My essay topic is...
"CCTV in private places should not be allowed"

There was a robber who took much jewelry from a public bathhouse. Fortunately, the robber was caught because of the CCTV camera that was on the ceiling but it becomes a controversial topic. Some people argued that CCTV in a private place is okay, however CCTV in private places should not be allowed.

 The first reason why CCTV in private places should not be allowed is that CCTV infringe on human rights and privacy. According to the constitutional law we can’t infringe on people’s own rights and privacy. So, CCTV should not be allowed in private place because it infringe on human rights and privacy.

 In addition CCTV in private places disturbs people. For example, when there’s CCTV, people try to act more carefully than before. For instance, when there is a CCTV, people took double careful and many people become more stressful because of the CCTV. Also, many people might be frustrated and will complain. Therefore, CCTV in private places disturbs people.

 Finally, CCTVs are really expensive. Currently, the cheapest CCTV in Korea was 150,000 won and the expensive one was more than 800,000 won. It looks nothing but the CCTVs on Gang-nam are 272. Then the price goes astronomically up. Also, 8,000,000,000 won took for just build the control center. In addition, all of the maintenance costs and installation charges are from citizen’s taxes, but the effects are too small compare with those money. So, CCTVs in private places should not be allowed because its money wastes.

 Some people might say CCTV should be allowed in private place because CCTV can catch some thieves. However it’s not true. For example, there are many incidents that caught innocent people or can’t catch the criminals because many CCTVs are not working or its screen is not clear. For the previous explanations, CCTV can catch some thieves are wrong.

 In addition some people also said that CCTV can protect people from bullies, but it’s also not true. As CCTV develops, criminals are developing too. So they took double or triple careful while they are committing a crime. Therefore, we can’t say that CCTV can protect people from bullies.

 In conclusion, CCTV in private places should not be allowed for the following three reasons. First of all, CCTV infringe on human rights and privacy. Next, CCTV disturbs people. And CCTVs are really expensive. Some people might say CCTV should be allowed because CCTV can catch some thieves. However it’s not true because sometimes, CCTV catches innocent people or can’t catch the criminals. Also some people might also say that CCTV can protects people from bullies but it’s also not true because as CCTV develops, criminals are also took more careful while they are committing a crime
